Board Sub-committees

Accountability, Accreditation, and Assessment (AAA)

On behalf of the Accountability, Accreditation, and Assessment Board Subcommittee (“AAA” or “Triple A”), I would like to welcome everyone to our 7th year at Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen.

The Purpose of the AAA Board Subcommittee is to collaborate with the Director, Faculty and Board of Directors in order to measure the health and effectiveness of our academic program.

We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 3:30 and our meetings are open to everyone.

The voting members from our school community who serve on AAA

Nancy Fiore – Chairperson and Board Liaison
Ryan Lucas – Director of RMAE
Cherie Mazurek - Teacher Representative (1st grade teacher)

Consultants to AAA

Roseann Jalbert (Student services coordinator)
Debbie Caruso (Preschool Director/Junior-kindergarten teacher)
Marcey Newman (Pre-Kindergarten Teacher and Assessment Coordinator)
Heather Burgbacher (Technology Teacher and Study Island coordinator)

What does AAA do? The RMAE Strategic Plan objectives for our committee are as follows:

  1. Evaluate the effectiveness of RMAE’s educational program
  2. Communicate with the parent body regarding expected educational standards and educational results
  3. Hold the administration and staff accountable for meeting stated objectives and results
  4. Review components of the educational program to make recommendations for improving instruction

These objectives will be accomplished in many ways, but primarily because of the dedication and cooperation of everyone at RMAE. Many opportunities exist for parents and staff to be involved with AAA without having to become a formal member of the committee. We will let you know in advance about when meetings will take place and what is on the agenda. Look for dates in the calendar in your weekly Grizzly Growl and also on the RMAE Web site

Meeting agendas will be posted on the outside doors at the main school and the preschool 2-3 days prior to meetings. There is always time at the beginning of our meetings for public comment. Though not required, it is nice if I know in advance of meetings whether or not there will be public comment in order to allow sufficient time. AAA updates and other news will be sent home in the Friday folder several times during the year.

A copy of the AAA Information Resource Binder is located in both the main school and Preschool front office. The purpose of the Information Resource Book is to provide information and material for parents and staff regarding the academic programs at RMAE. The Information Resource Binder will contain meeting agendas, meeting minutes, committee members and phone numbers, new regulations from the state or district that we have to incorporate into our program, curriculum maps for each grade, all subject plans, CSAP test scores, school report cards, class and school goals, the accreditation plan for RMAE and much more.

Our meetings are open to the public and are held the third Tuesday of each month from 3:30 – 5:45 p.m. in the staff lounge. Staff and parents are encouraged to attend these informative meetings to find out what is going on with various parts of RMAE’s academic programs.

Warm regards for a great school year,

Cheryl Hadsell
