Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen (RMAE) is a K-8 Core Knowledge charter school in Evergreen, Colorado and is currently seeking a full-time middle school Mathematics teacher for the 2017-18 school year.  Math is one of four core subjects in 7th / 8th grade with this teacher being one of a four-member team.

RMAE maintains high expectations for its students and teachers.  We are in search of a qualified mathematics teacher who understands that academic rigor can be achieved in a caring, supportive classroom.

The selected individual will be asked to meet the following expectations:

  • Create daily plans for students based on a sequenced year plan of the content.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in response to students’ needs.
  • Positively impact achievement and differentiate instruction based on the needs of the students.
  • Provide timely written and verbal feedback to students in relation to their completion of assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the scope and sequence of a math curriculum.
  • Maintain classroom expectations and routines that promote cooperation and respect among all students.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a familiarity with the Core Knowledge Sequence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet students’ academic and social/emotional needs.
  • Establish relationships with students, parents, and colleagues in support of all students’ growth and success.
  • Utilize data driven instruction.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings and other required events.
  • Model and promote RMAE’s Core Virtues.

Qualifications and Experience

  • All candidates must have a valid teaching license for Secondary Mathematics issued by the Colorado Dept. of Education or be Highly Qualified to teach Secondary Mathematics.

  • Beginning base salary: $40K min (increased per qualification and experience)

Facility Manager

July 2017

 

Duties include:

  • Responsible for cleanliness of the buildings, inside and out, during the school day to provide an environment conducive to learning excellence.
  • Perform cleaning (mop spills and wet floors on inclement days, empty trash), monitor restrooms throughout the day to ensure cleanliness that follows health and safety standards, unclog plumbing and waste traps as needed, and replace restroom supplies when needed. Monitor bathroom facilities and make repairs if able.
  • Set up tables and trash receptacles prior to lunch time. Check cafeteria throughout the lunch period to remove trash, sweep and/or mop spills, clean cafeteria following lunch period.
  • Provide safe access to the buildings and grounds, including ensuring snow and ice are removed, activating appropriate lighting, removing and/or reporting graffiti and vandalism, removing litter and emptying outside trash cans.
  • Perform minor repairs to building including but not limited to changing light bulbs; replacing ceiling tiles; repairing and assembling furniture; touch up paint and wall painting; hanging teaching aids; organizing and prioritizing maintenance requests; participating in facility modification and construction projects.
  • Maintain building inventory, hazardous materials inventory, Material Safety Datasheets (MSDS). Request order of supplies, receive, unpack and store deliveries.
  • Participate with the Emergency Response Team to oversee all emergency procedures of the school. Respond to incidences including emergencies such as fire alarms, broken pipes, electrical shorts and fires. Assist building staff as needed during emergencies to assure student and staff safety. Assist with fire and emergency drills. Assure buildings meet fire and health regulations at all times.
  • Recognize unsafe security conditions and correct or report the condition to appropriate personnel or authorities.
  • Set up for school programs, meetings, assemblies, special events and after-hour functions as requested by Principal, Office Manager, or appropriate staff.
  • Move furniture and supplies between classrooms and building as requested by building staff and as approved by the Principal.
  • Keep schedule of required inspections and work with Principal to schedule and assure inspections are completed on time and all paperwork is filed in the proper place.
  • Monitor contracted services for the evening custodial care of RMAE and for other maintenance/repair services as scheduled.

Experience:  Applicant must demonstrate some experience/ability related to custodial care and/or minor building maintenance.

Beginning Salary: $35,000. This is a year-round position with 11 paid holidays, 2 weeks of vacation, and 10 PTO days for sick/personal leave. Medical benefit equals $360.25 per month to participate in Jeffco’s medical plan. Basic Life Insurance Plan paid by RMAE.
