  •   In science we are studying Life Cycles and Traits

Dates to remember:

* No school Jan 18th

Happy Friday!

* Conferences will be the 1st two weeks of February. Signup sheet will be sent in the next week or so.

* No school Monday, the 18th.

* This was shared with me: for parents who have curious kids and would like them to do a STEM camp over the summer.

Wit and Wisdom:

We are now studying space. Mainly working with why Galileo studied the stars and putting events in chronological order, writing conclusion paragraphs, and finding the essential meaning of a text. We will be moving into our next arc which is how did the astronauts on Apollo 11 learn about space. We have also been writing opinion essays.

Chapter 11 is about perimeter and area.

Our next unit we will start next week is life cycles and traits. Students will learn about the life cycle of plants and animals. They will also learn about different traits within populations and species. As well as environmental and survival traits.

Social Studies:

We are not studying the Earliest Americans. We will learn about Native American tribes such as the Navajo, Inuit, Pueblo, and Mound Builders. Students will learn about Beringia and how people came to settle in North America.
