Ms. Pumphrey's Bio

Ms. Pumphrey's Bio

My name is Brinda Pumphrey and this is my seventh year at RMAE teaching middle school art. I am very excited to be teaching an 8th grade elective mural class in the library, and 6th grade art classes on Wednesdays this year.

I grew up in Littleton. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado and have since taken classes at University of Denver. I am a member of the Art Students League of Denver and of the Colorado Art Education Association. I LOVE teaching art! I also love making art. I primarily work in acrylic painting, watercolor painting and drawing. For the past few years, I have been working on a series of acrylic paintings of the Grand Canyon, using photos I took while hiking in the canyon. I also express my creativity in a wide variety of other mediums like making gingerbread houses with my daughters (Hagrid's Hut, a castle, a Hobbit house, the Tardis, ...) and pysanky. I have a husband and two daughters, one just graduated from CU Boulder, the other is a paleontology major at Montana State University in Bozeman. Both of my daughters love making art. I also have a house bunny named Obi.

The best way to reach me is by email. I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so if you leave a voicemail I can't get it until the next time I work. I check my emails frequently, even on my days off. My email is:

I can always use an extra hand in art, so if you would like to come in and volunteer you are welcome! Contact me and we can set up times and days that work for you.
