6th Grade Parents and Students,

We are emailing you with pertinent information for the upcoming May trip to Keystone! 

All of the information is on our school website under School Resources. We are also attaching the information for you. We will also send another reminder in April.

Please note, that the deposit for the trip is due by the end of this month. You can pay that deposit in the amount of $50.00 on your Jeffco Connect account. If you have any 

questions regarding this please contact Deb Kelley.

Trip Dates are May 6-8, 2020

Trip Cost: Estimated at $230. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due by February 28, 2020.

Proceeds from the 6th Grade Froyo fundraiser will help to offset the balance for all who attend. 

The balance will be determined in April, and payment for the trip must be made in full by May 1, 2020.

Current Event on Motion, Friction or Gravity - Due Monday, 10/28th in GOOGLE CLASSROOM 

We started a project to Build a Rollercoaster!  We are learning how potential and kinetic energy tie into building a roller coaster!  They can work with a partner and have started the planning process for the project.  Their group is responsible to bring in materials to make the roller coaster.  As a group or individual, they have to decide what materials they will need to build the roller coaster.  Link Here for Guidelines
Some ideas:
Foam tube
paper towel tube
toilet paper tube
Wrapping paper tube
duct tape
masking tape
dixie cups (to catch their ball)
Boxes to hold up their roller coaster tube
marble, bouncy ball, golf ball for the coaster
plastic piping 

The packet planning is due Friday 10/25 - we will work on this in class.
They will start building their roller coasters Monday, 10/28 so please start sending in supplies.

The roller coasters are due on Wednesday, November 6th.

If your child didn't get the blue Parent Letter signed, they didn't receive an Energy Kit.  They still need to participate in the project and fill out the Student Guide and Home Energy Worksheet - this is a grade for science class.  If you want the kit, you have to sign the blue letter that went home.

**Read pages 4-15 in your Motion, Forces and Energy Science Explorer book.  Then complete the Guided Reading and Study (GRS) packet - Describing and Measuring Motion - due Wednesday, September, 25th -
