Classroom News

Kindergarten - Kindergarten celebrated 100 days of school with a 100th-day party!  Students dressed like 100-year-olds and did activities that involved counting and making all things 100!

4th Grade - The King in the Kitchen is a wonderful little play from our reading curriculum. Every year, the students get to create this play and perform it for all of the fourth and fifth grades.

8th Grade Language Arts - The eighth graders are learning their Greek and Latin roots (as per Core Knowledge curriculum)!   Wednesday they moved through several study stations. They played Pictionary, Bingo, Slap It, and wrote skits.   Having fun while simultaneously learning!  It's like hiding vegetables in cheese!

8th Grade Language Arts - Students learn how to effectively work as a group through a children's book project.  They worked in groups of three, prepped on how to interview and work with our kindergarteners, and, of course, how to write children's books.  This Tuesday, we visited kindergarten to hear what they want their books to be about!  Eighth graders asked about characters, conflict, setting, and how they want the story to end.  The 8th graders returned to the classroom to write, illustrate, and bind their book projects.  Once completed, they'll be presented as gifts to the Kindergartners.   The 8th graders are so excited about this project, and they were surprised at how challenging it was to interview the kinders

Snowshoeing Elective - Another beautiful, sunny Colorado day!
