Mission Statement
Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen inspires each student
to pursue personal and academic excellence through an intellectually
challenging Core Knowledge™ curriculum within a nurturing environment.
Vision Statement
Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen envisions a community
working together to create a learning environment that encourages growth
in character, academic achievement, and the love of learning.
Meet the Board John Morrill, President

John Morrill serves as President of the Governing Board
and has served on the Board since 2005. Mr. Morrill is currently Sales
Vice
President
with ING LifeDesign, a sales division of the ING Group. He
is responsible for a five state territory and specializes in the Business
and
Estate Planning markets. Mr. Morrill received his Bachelor of Arts
degree in economics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
In addition to his Board role at RMAE, John is Cubmaster
of the newly
formed RMAE Cub Scout Pack 642 and prior Board member of the
Lions Club of Denver. In the fall of 2007, all three of his children
will be at
RMAE: 4th grade, 2nd grade and preschool.

Quinn, Vice President

Carrie Quinn serves as Vice-President of the Governing
Board and has served on the Board since January 2007. Ms. Quinn has
been a stay at home mom for the
past 13 years. Ms. Quinn has been involved in both parent participation and
Charter schools for over nine years. Her involvement has been both from PTO
leadership roles and at the Board level at several different schools. Ms.
Quinn also teaches Sunday School at her local church.
Ryan
Lucas, Director

Ryan Lucas serves as the Director of RMAE and
one of two faculty representatives of the Governing Board. He has
served on the Board since July 2007. Mr. Lucas
taught for six years in the Jeffco School District. He also has served
as the Communications Director on two different occasions: the Outdoor
Lab Foundation
a non profit 501 (c)(3) and Colorado House District 22 campaign (2006).
Mr. Lucas received
his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Northern
Colorado and his Master of Arts degree in Information and Learning
Technologies from
the University of Colorado, Denver, where he also complete coursework for
his Principal's license. Mr. Lucas currently holds a Professional
Teacher's license and an
Initial
Principal's
License,
both from the State
of Colorado.
Tim
Cox, Secretary

Tim Cox serves as Secretary of the Governing Board
and has served on the Board
since October 2005. Mr. Cox is a partner in the law firm of Widner & Michow
LLP, which specializes in local government law. He was recently appointed to
serve as the City Attorney for Lakewood, the fourth largest city in Colorado,
and
has also served as the Town Attorney for the towns of Lyons and Lochbuie
and
an Assistant City Attorney for the city of Centennial. Mr. Cox received
his Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Boston College, and his
Juris Doctor cum laude from Suffolk University Law School in Boston.
Shannon Delany, Treasurer

Shannon Delany serves as treasurer of the
Governing Board and has served on the Board since June 2007. Ms.
Delany is currently the owner and operator of a
children's boutique in downtown Evergreen. Ms. Delany received her Bachelor
of Arts degree in Humanities and French from California State University,
Chico.
Mike Novick, parent representative

Mike Novick currently serves as
a parent representative of the Governing Board and has served on
the Board approximately 7 years or 1 year prior to the school
opening its doors. Mr. Novick has over 25 years of Finance and Accounting
experience in a variety of companies and in a variety of different
industries. Mr. Novick
is currently the CFO for Alfred Karcher Holdings Inc. Prior to this Mr.
Novick has held positions at Coldwell Banker, CSG Systems, Coors
Brewing Company,
Abbott Laboratories and Ernst & Whinney.
Mr. Novick was the Treasurer of the Board for approximately 5 years. Mr.
Novick received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration
from Miami
University in Oxford, OH. Mr. Novick is also currently the Vice President
of the Evergreen Volunteer Fire Department (EVFD) and has served as a volunteer
firefighter with EVFD for almost 10 years.
Nancy Fiore

Nancy Fiore serves as Parent Representative of the Governing
Board and has served on the Board since September, 2005. Ms. Fiore
is currently
a stay at home Mom.
Previously she was employed by Gambro Inc. as Human Resources Manager, and
at Ford Motor Company in various Human Resources positions. Ms. Fiore received
her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Austin College, and
her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

Doug Kittelsen serves as a parent representative
of the Governing Board and has served on the Board since 2003. Mr.
Kittelsen
is currently
the Chief Technology Officer of FTEN, Inc., a financial securities
technology company. Mr. Kittelsen received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Business from University of Binghamton.
Karen
Hines, teacher representative

Karen Hines serves as the teacher representative of
the Governing Board and has served on the board since July. Ms. Hines
is
currently
teaching
second grade for the seventh year at Rocky Mountain Academy of
Evergreen. She enjoys teaching the Core Knowledge curriculum and
feels it inspires
the love of learning in children. In 2004, she was nominated by
the Colorado League of Charter Schools for the Exceptional Teacher
Award.
In 2004,
she wrote a Core Knowledge Unit for second grade and was asked
by the Core Knowledge Foundation to present it at the National Core
Knowledge
Convention in Philadelphia. It was very well received and is available
to all teachers on the Core Knowledge Foundation web site. Ms.
Hines has a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor
in piano
from Malone College in Canton, Ohio and holds a professional teaching
license from the state of Colorado.
