Art Updates:

Please bring to art: the art form signed by a parent and the student, $3.00 for a sketchbook, an eraser, a fine point black sharpie, and a handheld pencil sharpener.  These were on the supply order and in the supply kits. There are still 39 students who have not paid for the sketchbooks they received.

8th graders need to bring in items to draw from popular consumer culture for a Pop Art printmaking project. Please bring them in by Tuesday Oct. 22.

Odyssey of the Mind:

We are forming Odyssey of the Mind teams at RMAE.  Last year we had two successful teams.  Both teams moved on to the state tournament and one team qualified and competed at World Finals.  The Colorado Odyssey of the Mind website has an article about the middle school team at RMAE under “What’s New” and has information.  You can also go to the national website to learn more, or contact me for information.

About me:

I am married and have two daughters, one just started at CU Boulder the other is in 10th grade.

I enjoy camping, skiing, gardening, hiking and making art.

I coached Odyssey of the Mind for 5 years and Destination Imagination for 2 years prior to that.  I coached two teams during two of those years.  The two OotM teams I coached went on to compete at World Finals three times and two times.

I completed 15 years of volunteering for the National Sports Center for the Disabled in 2011.

I’ve hiked the Grand Canyon three times, once from the North Rim to the South Rim , and once from the South Rim to Plateau Point and back up and once down to the first water station and back up.

I spent a summer in Europe living out of a backpack.

I LOVE teaching art!
